You can try on clothes and change if you don’t like how it looks but you can’t do the same with life. What you can do, during the 83000 seconds you have in a day, is to choose to be happy, depressed or sad. So choose happiness and be happy. Here are some good tips of how to make yourself happy every single day.

1. Listen to the music
Tune in to some happy music like the piece by Jimmy Durant, “You gotta start off each day with a smile”. You will grin from ear to ear in joy just listening to it.
2. Laugh out loud
Don’t be modest with that laugher, burst it out long and loud!
3. Play with your children
Tease them or play with them. You’ll feel the joy. If you don’t have kids, well, may be play with your neighbor’s kids.
4. Give your pets a hug of love
Your pets love you unconditionally and they will only love you more and more.
5. Help others
When you feel down in the dumps, get out there and help others. You’ll feel the satisfaction of being a giver.

6. Do community service or volunteering
Helping others in need can be joyful and satisfactory.
7. Admire the flowers
Buy yourself some flowers and admire their soft scent and beauty. My favorite flower is pink Lily, an amazingly fragrant flower that lasts for weeks. I always put them in my house or on my desk.
8. Light an aromatic candle
Aromatic candles can make you feel good. Its magical scent should never be overlooked.
9. Practice meditation
Replace negative feelings with mind peace.
10. Get a laughing bag
This silly little thing gives a tremendous and contagious crazy laugh when you squeeze it. Available in any toy shops. Get one and bring it to your office, I do it too. See how your peers get cracked up spontaneously at the bag’s cackle.
11. See a comedy show
Get a ticket to a standup comedy and enjoy.
12. Watch a comedy movie
Some people like Billy Connelly or Bill Cosby. There are lots of comedy movies to choose from. Add a laugher to your normal daily routine.

Snap out of your depression and be happy. Attach yourself to optimistic people and try the tips you’re given to make yourself happy.
